In Iran the story is the same and start-ups are competing with each other. In this article we are going to talk about some of the most successful Iranian start-ups.

1.Digikala

 

Digikala is one of the oldest start-ups in Iran. They started their business in 2006 as a website to compare and sell digital products. In the beginning they focused on reviews of digital products such as smart phones and laptops, a feature which was vital, regarding online Persian content . Little by little they expanded their product lines. Today you can find various product categories such as clothes, dinnerware, home appliances and even car equipment on their website.

2.Snap

 

Snap is a start-up based on the taxi service company Uber. This company was able to become successful by developing an app. With this app you can find nearby taxis easily. What made Snap successful was their competitive prices and satisfactory support. This start-up was established in 2014 by Shahram Shahkar a student of electrical engineering at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. Snap is the first Iranian start-up in public transportation section.

3.Divar

Divar is one of the most popular and famous start-ups in Iran. People can list the things that they want to sell, and you can view what other people are selling on the Internet. Most of the products that are listed in Divar are second hand products. Listing your products on Divar is free of charge. If your offer gets old you can pay a small amount of money and boost it to the first page again. You can use the website or the application which is available for Android and iOS. Sheypoor is another start-up offering similar services to Divar.

4.Cafe Bazaar

 

Bazaar is the biggest application repository of Android in Iran. This start-up has connected a lot of developers, marketers, and users through its application store. After Google imposed some limitations on its Google Play Store in Iran, Avaye Hamrah Company started to localize the most used apps and make them accessible for Iranians. Other than a user-friendly app repository, Bazaar also played an important role in presenting Iranian apps and games.

5.Aparat

Aparat started in 2013 as a video sharing platform in Iran. You can say that Aparat is the Iranian version of YouTube. Most Iranian businesses and celebrities use Aparat to present their works and projects . Aparat is a subsidiary of Saba Idea company which is the owner of Iranian blog service MihanBlog and marketing website Saba Vision.

To mention some other successful start-ups we can mention Tap30 (pronounced TAPSI) which is very similar to Snap and offers public transportation. SnapFood is another start-up which is a food delivery service. In tourism section, AliBaba website offers different sorts if services from booking  airplane and train tickets to hotel reservations in both domestic and foreign destinations.

All in all Iran has been successful in start-up business. With a little creativity prosperous projects can be started and very soon they will result in remarkable profit. A great step through this process might be the emergence of Iranian crowdfunding businesses such as 2nate and Malatima. Iran has a good potential in this industry, and the everyday expansion and evolution of technology nurtures it more than ever.
